Five new São Paulo restaurants earn Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition for 2026

Pico Editorial·April 26, 2026

The democratization of high-end gastronomy in São Paulo gained a new chapter in April 2026. The Michelin Guide announced five new restaurants in the Brazilian capital awarded the Bib Gourmand seal, recognition for establishments that offer gastronomic excellence with outstanding value for money.

Jiquitaia, Manioca JK, Ping Yang Thai Bar & Food, Tabōa Cozinha Artesanal and Tanit form the new wave of addresses that consolidates São Paulo as the national epicenter of accessible quality gastronomy. Dishes range from R$65 to R$260, maintaining the technical rigor that is the French guide's trademark.

The new São Paulo gastronomic map

Each restaurant brings a unique proposition to the scene. Jiquitaia, from chef Marcelo Corrêa Bastos, occupies a charming 1950s house in Paraíso. Traditional Brazilian cuisine comes to life in dishes like free-range chicken coxinhas and fish moqueca with shrimp, all served in a wood-filled environment surrounded by vegetation.

In Vila Olímpia, Manioca JK represents the expansion of chef Helena Rizzo's universe. Located on the third floor of Shopping JK Iguatemi, the restaurant focuses on grilling as the protagonist, serving everything from lamb kafta with mint chimichurri to squid rice with crispy tentacles and tucupi aioli.

Tanit, from Catalan chef Oscar Bosch, brings contemporary Mediterranean cuisine to Oscar Freire street. With firm roots in Spanish tradition, the menu includes the classic fideuá with shrimp and aioli, plus modern tapas in an environment bathed in natural light.

In Vila Madalena, Tabōa Cozinha Artesanal from chef Carla Costa stands out for its focus on small producers and refined technique. The house was born from the dream of creating a space with its own identity, valuing local ingredients and transforming every meal into an act of care.

Completing the list is Ping Yang Thai Bar & Food, which represents Thai cuisine's entry into the Bib Gourmand selection. Led by chef Mauricio Santi in Cerqueira César, it organizes the menu into categories like Chim (appetizers), Yam (salads), and traditional Thai culinary preparations.

Gastronomic scene maturity

The inclusion of these five addresses reflects the maturity of São Paulo's gastronomic scene. With 38 Bib Gourmand restaurants, São Paulo concentrates most of the 46 Brazilian establishments awarded the seal. The recognition validates the strategy of emerging and established chefs who bet on accessibility without compromising excellence.

The Bib Gourmand seal, symbolized by the iconic Bibendum enjoying a meal, highlights restaurants that offer excellent value for money, regardless of culinary style. For inspectors, the central criterion is technical execution combined with a balanced relationship between quality and price.

Why go

These five restaurants represent a new generation of addresses that make high-end gastronomy more democratic in São Paulo. They are spaces where refined technique and quality ingredients meet fair prices, allowing more people to access memorable gastronomic experiences.
