São Paulo Restaurant Week 2026: How the 'Champions' Kitchen' Theme Transforms the City's Biggest Food Festival

With over 180 restaurants and fixed-price menus starting at R$59.90, the 36th edition connects football and gastronomy in an unprecedented experience

Pico Editorial·April 10, 2026

Imagine a Milanese risotto having a conversation with an Argentine escabeche, or a French cassoulet sharing the table with a São Paulo chef's reinterpretation of English bobotie. That's exactly what's happening at the 36th São Paulo Restaurant Week, which from April 10 to May 10 transforms the capital into a borderless gastronomic laboratory.

The 'Champions' Kitchen' theme isn't just a marketing play — it's a creative challenge that's making São Paulo's chefs rethink their menus. Restaurants are challenged to create exclusive menus for the festival, honoring the cuisine of countries that have already won the World Cup title – such as Brazil, Italy, Germany, Argentina, France, Uruguay, Spain, and England.

The Brazil we don't know on our table

São Paulo is recognized as Brazil's richest gastronomic scene, where you find cuisine from diverse countries around the world. But Restaurant Week 2026 goes further: it's creating an unprecedented dialogue between culinary traditions and Brazilian football passion. Chefs are encouraged to explore flavors and references from countries that marked world football, creating menus that celebrate this diversity at the table.

In practice, this means you can try German fermentation techniques applied to Brazilian ingredients, or discover how a São Paulo chef reinterprets Valencian paella in their contemporary version. Names like Varanda Grill, L'Entrecôte de Paris, Japan Sushi House, and Luce are among the more than 180 participants spread throughout the city and metropolitan area.

Fixed-price menus that truly democratize

Menus range from R$59.90 to R$149, divided into categories: Traditional (R$59.90 lunch | R$74.90 dinner), Plus (R$73.90 lunch | R$94.90 dinner), Premium (R$95.00 lunch | R$115.00 dinner), and Diamond (R$109.00 lunch | R$149.00 dinner). The big news? The Kids Dish for R$39.90, expanding the experience to children and families.

Fernando Reis, creator of Brasil Restaurant Week, explains the strategy behind the numbers: "The 36th São Paulo Restaurant Week comes once again to make this possible for São Paulo residents, whether by providing the opportunity to experience that restaurant or chef you've always dreamed of, or by discovering new places and flavors, all at an accessible and fixed price".

A festival that moves R$31 million

The expectation is that the festival will move approximately R$31 million in the city's economy, a growth of almost 50% compared to the previous edition. For restaurants, the period usually represents extra cash flow: the estimate is an average 20% increase in sales during the event.

But the numbers go beyond direct revenue. The increase in customer flow contributes to job maintenance and income generation, especially for front-of-house and kitchen teams. It's a mechanism that feeds the entire gastronomic chain of the city.

Gastronomy with social purpose

Restaurant Week maintains its partnership with the Chef Aprendiz project, which trains young people in vulnerable situations. The public can make a difference through voluntary donation of R$2 for each menu consumed. Since the beginning of the partnership, more than R$130,000 has already been allocated to the project.

"It may seem small, but the R$2 donation for each menu sold at São Paulo Restaurant Week gives us the possibility to continue training and developing these people through gastronomy", highlights one of the project coordinators.

Why go now

This edition of Restaurant Week isn't just another food festival — it's a unique opportunity to experience how São Paulo interprets the world through food. Imagine being able to travel through the eight World Cup champion countries without leaving the city, paying between R$59.90 and R$149 for a complete experience?

It's the democratization of world gastronomy happening in practice, with São Paulo chefs as curators of a culinary journey that connects tradition, innovation, and passion. More than a tribute to sport, it's an invitation for the public to experience a gastronomic journey through the continents.
