Gastronomic Bridge: Pirajá Hosts Pop-up from Iconic Galeto Sat's of Copacabana

Pico Editorial·April 18, 2026

Something exciting is shaking up Vila Mariana: Pirajá has received a special collaboration with Galeto Sat's, one of the most traditional addresses in Copacabana's nightlife scene, as part of the "Ponte Aérea" (Air Bridge) project. This isn't just another special menu — it's the first time two boteco cultures have officially come together in São Paulo.

Founded in 1967 in Copacabana, Galeto Sat's became one of the most emblematic bars of Rio's nightlife. Under the Rabello family's command, the bar keeps alive the tradition of ice-cold draft beer and charcoal-grilled chicken, a classic combination that spans generations. The bar has been a reference in Rio's bohemian scene for over 50 years and became the 31st botequim in Rio to receive the famous blue Cultural Heritage plaques.

Now, for the first time, Pirajá Vila Mariana is offering a special menu with some of Galeto Sat's most emblematic appetizers. The recipes were learned directly from the Rio bar's team during a gastronomic immersion in Rio de Janeiro.

Menu That's Living History

The collaboration menu doesn't mess around: Galeto Sat's (R$ 58) – chicken grilled on charcoal and finished with orange and lemon-based sauce; Grilled chicken hearts (R$ 48) – marinated and prepared on charcoal; Garlic bread (R$ 29) – two stuffed units cut for sharing; Egg farofa (R$ 42) – classic from Rio bars; Portuguese potatoes (R$ 20) – ideal side for snacking.

The galeto comes with that citrus sauce that balances the meat's richness — something only those who understand boteco culture know how to do. The chicken hearts — an appetizer that became Sat's trademark — maintain all the tradition of the marinade and perfect grilling point. The egg farofa needs no introduction: it's mandatory at any self-respecting Rio bar table.

A Bridge Between Two Cities

The experience inspired the creation of the first Pirajá, opened in 1998 on Avenida Faria Lima in São Paulo. "We learned there was a unique and fascinating bar culture. The atmosphere, the food, the names of the appetizers, the waiters' banter… everything was very different from what we knew in São Paulo," recalls Ricardo Garrido, Pirajá's founder.

"We've been fans of Sat's for a long time. We realized we had never talked about the ultra-carioca tradition of charcoal-grilled chicken on our menu. We connected the dots and invited Sat's to bring their historic little foods to São Paulo."

And choosing Vila Mariana to host this gastronomic bridge wasn't random. The neighborhood opened its 12th Pirajá location last Thursday, on the corner of Rua Gandavo, already established as one of São Paulo's main gastronomic hubs.

The Future of the Air Bridge

The "Ponte Aérea" project is born with continuity in mind. Galeto Sat's is the first guest, but the proposal is to receive other traditional establishments with history and identity. The idea is simple and brilliant: connect the boteco cultures of both capitals, bringing to São Paulo the best of what Rio has that's authentic.

Pirajá celebrates Rio's boteco culture with traditional cooking and personality-driven mixology, delivering precisely poured draft beer and creative caipirinhas. The atmosphere is relaxed, with agile and cordial service. Now, with Sat's menu, the experience becomes even more complete.

Why Go

This collaboration is more than a special menu — it's the chance to taste living history in São Paulo. Galeto Sat's isn't just any boteco: it's Rio's cultural heritage, a place that crossed generations maintaining its recipes and traditions intact. Being able to eat this galeto in Vila Mariana, prepared with the original recipes, is rare.

The moment also marks the beginning of something bigger: the first official initiative of gastronomic exchange between Rio and São Paulo's boteco cultures. It's for those who understand that good bars aren't trends — they're tradition.
